I am the river and the pollution
I am the problem and the solution
I am the waxing and the waning
I am the losing and the gaining
I am the drought and the flood
I am reckless and thoughtful
I am chaos and perfectionist
I am shy and confident
I am the silence and the thud
I am the sleeping and the screams
I am the tear and the seams
I am the slower and the faster
I am the wound and the plaster
I am the ending and the start
I am not the distinctions of the past
But the victories of my present.
I am not the stairs today,
But the summit of tomorrow.
I am neither then nor later
I am now
I am the girl, slowly rebuilding.
